Her comatose state prompted doctors to predict that there was no alternative to pulling the plug and ending her life. Dedicated family and friends gathered to pray and celebrate her anticipated recovery. Defying the prediction of doctors, Orah Mital began to respond to stimuli and after life-saving surgery was performed, awoke from her comatose state to recognize family and friends and communicate with them. Orah Mital has made great strides in her recovery, however, recovery from traumatic brain injury is a long and deeply complex process requiring patience, deep reserves of faith, and steady ongoing commitment and support.
